secrets, thoughts, opposites, non verbal communication and more!

i feel like this post is going to be all over the place.
but whatev.

so i've been overly emotional recently
for various reasons.
mainly cause i'm a girl and sometimes it just happens. as much as i hate it. it comes with the territory.
of course my close friends pick up on that and thus begins the non verbal email communications while at work
i received a few from my besties, one of which was from aubry.
alot can be accomplished between the two of us non verbally i must admit.
lots of guts have been spilled this way and this time was no different.
she sent me this, which was a perfect reminder for how i have been feeling..

"It was meant to be that life would be a challenge. To suffer some anxiety, some depression, some disappointment, even some failure is normal. Teach our members that if they have a good, miserable day once in a while, or several in a row, to stand steady and face them. Things will straighten out. There is great purpose in our struggle in life" - Boyd K. Packer.

luckily i don't have too many bad days. but when i do, i have good friends that are there when i need them. even if it is just via email sometimes!

here is what my life is these days...
everyone is getting engaged and/or married. tis the season i guess?

my best friend of about 10 years/highschool sweetheart of 4 years/the one i thought back then, i WAS going to marry....
got engaged.
now don't get me wrong, I am truly happy for him.
but it still stings.
even after 5 years of preparing myself, knowing that this would happen sooner or later
it still stings.
this definitely doesn't help with the emotional crap lol

lately lots and lots of people have been confiding in me their secrets.
i'm not sure why, but i am honored.
i don't have alot of secrets, i'm pretty open with things,
but for once....i actually have a secret of my own that only one person on this planet knows about.
its a real hum dinger, and i dont think that even my closest friends would believe it!
it makes me laugh.
and will probably never ever come out.

  i propose the question:
do opposites really attract?
what are you're thoughts?

blind date update:
many of you have been asking about my most recent blind date, and if we have gone out again.
he has been in california for the holidays, and since he has been back we have been playing a great game of phone tag. so nothing yet. i'll keep you posted.

last but certainly not least, i have made some great new friends lately.
and gotten to know other friends better.
i am so so blessed to be surouned by such great people and great friends.
they are definitely one of my most cherished blessings.

  1. I particularly like this post. "Musings on the Complexities of Life With Others" could be an alternate title. I don't think it is so much that opposites attract, but rather opposites can be effective at balancing and complimenting each others weaknesses and strengths.

  2. I'm honored for the mention in the list of randomness. We work with what we've got, us working women, and m-f, 8-5, we've got email. Use it. Love it. Bless it.
    Hum dinger.................

  3. Opposites may attract, but they don't stay together. The more similar your views, morals, habits and opinions are the less effort it will take to understand and enjoy each other. Opposites may attract, but they shouldn't...at least that's been my experience.

  4. sometimes i think matt and i are too much alike. but i do think opposites attract- anne and tyler were opposite(in my opinion). but they compliment eachother perfectly. who knows.

now you've got me wondering about this secret! you cant tell people you have one and then plan on NOT sharing!

its hard to watch people move on with their lives.. especially because you still care about them, even if its in a different way. we just cant dwell on it too much or you could really drive yourself crazy. i know what this is like.

  5. boyd k. packer often know what he's talking about. i love that quote:) thanks for the insight, girl!
